Background-
Amman will host the first conference of the Arab Worldwide Freight Alliance (AWFA), drawing representatives of 100 shipping and logistics companies from 18 Arab countries.
AWFA President Awdah Ramahi said Tuesday that the event will give companies in shipping, customs clearance and logistics a place to find new business and strengthen cooperation across the region.
The conference will launch the first Jordanian-Arab platform that links companies and institutions in the sector and helps them form partnerships. Organizers say the platform will help build a more integrated Arab transport and logistics network.
Ramahi said the platform will bring industry players together under one network. Member companies will share expertise, build commercial partnerships and reach new markets. He added that it will also help improve the efficiency of logistics operations and services through an integrated Arab and international network.
Speakers will discuss the Economic Modernization Vision and its role in strengthening Jordan’s position as a logistics hub. They will also cover the future of Arab supply chains and how the sector can turn current challenges into new opportunities.
The agenda includes a session on the role of Arab women in logistics. Attendees will also sit down in one-on-one business meetings, where Arab companies can build trade links and test the ground for joint ventures.
