Background
Emirates NBD has partnered with Dubai Future District Fund (DFDF) to accelerate FinTech and artificial intelligence innovation while improving customer banking services.
Under the partnership, the two organisations will identify, test and adopt technology solutions that can improve the efficiency and quality of financial services in Dubai. The deal will also give Emirates NBD access to a pipeline of FinTech and AI startups backed by DFDF.
The bank will explore solutions across AI-powered banking, embedded finance, digital assets, SME services, WealthTech, compliance technology and next-generation banking infrastructure.
The partnership will allow selected startups to run structured pilot projects with Emirates NBD. Successful solutions could later move into commercial deployment across the bank’s operations.
Emirates NBD said the initiative will support more personalised banking services, faster digital product launches, stronger fraud detection and improved financial security. It is also expected to improve services for small and medium-sized businesses and simplify customer onboarding.
DFDF is Dubai’s AED 1 billion evergreen venture capital fund of funds, backed by the Dubai International Financial Centre and Dubai Future Foundation. It invests in startups working across financial technology and other future-focused sectors.
The partnership comes as the UAE’s FinTech market continues to expand. Its market value is projected to rise from $3.16 billion in 2024 to $5.71 billion by 2029.
Emirates NBD also plans to use the partnership to support national talent development through the National Digital Talent Incubator and contribute to the UAE’s wider innovation agenda.
