Background:
Khazna Data Centers has strengthened its focus on Saudi Arabia’s growing digital sector by naming Mohammed Bin Hassan as its new Country Head. This follows the company’s recent purchase of a 225,000 sqm site in Dammam to develop major new data center facilities, supporting the Kingdom’s ongoing digital plans under Vision 2030.
Bin Hassan, who has spent more than 20 years shaping national technology programs, will lead Khazna’s efforts to expand its footprint in the Saudi market. His experience includes serving as Chief Digital Officer at a Public Investment Fund–owned company, where he launched its first Digital Strategy, along with playing a key role in Vision 2030’s SAR 6 billion Fourth Industrial Revolution initiative.
In his new role, he will supervise the development of Khazna’s new Dammam site, which is planned to provide up to 200 MW of capacity. The facility will handle high-performance digital workloads and will be built with a modular design so it can expand easily as demand grows. Khazna confirmed that the center will include advanced energy-efficient systems and will be built to LEED Gold standards.
Hassan Alnaqbi, CEO of Khazna Data Centers, noted that Saudi Arabia has made major progress in building its digital capabilities over the past decade. He said the country is now among the global leaders in digital government and open-data development, and added that Mohammed’s appointment strengthens Khazna’s ability to support the Kingdom’s long-term digital goals.
Mohammed Bin Hassan said Khazna’s growth in Saudi Arabia reflects the company’s strong commitment to the country. He explained that the Kingdom is moving into a new stage of digital advancement and expressed his appreciation for the opportunity to lead Khazna’s work. He stated that the company aims to develop infrastructure that supports future demand and contributes to national development.
Khazna is currently the largest hyperscale wholesale data center operator in the region, with 30 active sites totaling nearly 650 MW of capacity.
