Background
Al Seer Marine, a subsidiary of Abu Dhabi’s International Holding Company, has reported total revenue of AED579 million for the first half of the year, reflecting steady performance despite disruption across regional shipping routes.
Announcing its financial results for the six months ending in June, the company said operating profit stood at AED89.2 million before fair value adjustments to its investment portfolio, even as maritime trade in the Gulf faced continued volatility.
The company’s asset base stood at AED2.3 billion in non-current assets and AED5.53 billion in current assets, with total shareholders’ equity of AED3.9 billion as of the end of June.
Company chief executive Guy Neivens said the first half of the year had tested the maritime sector in unprecedented ways, as regional conflict disrupted global shipping routes. He said the company relied on its risk management systems to stay ahead of the disruption and protect shareholder interests, adding that all 18 of its commercial vessels remained fully deployed worldwide with no strandings despite tensions in the Strait of Hormuz.
Neivens said the company had launched an emergency plan to safeguard its workforce while maintaining full operations across its other divisions, including innovation, defence and technology, and yacht management.
During the period, Al Seer Marine maintained full operational uptime, advanced deliveries under a national maritime security programme, and expanded its business through new partnerships covering robotic 3D printing, sea ambulance technology and integrated maritime services. The company also joined a national shipbuilders consortium to support the development of the UAE’s maritime industrial base.
