Background
In collaboration with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Experiences, Miral has unveiled its plans for two new DC-inspired rides at Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi, thereby extending the range of entertainment at the theme park located indoors on Yas Island.
These two new additions, Kryptonite Collider and Superman Up and Away, form part of a considerable expansion of DC-related experiences at the theme park. ‘Kryptonite Collider’ is scheduled to open to visitors in July, while the Superman attraction is expected to be completed in 2028.
Designed as an immersive thrill ride, ‘Kryptonite Collider’ places guests in the center of a high-energy centrifuge experience set within the Metropolis-themed area of the park. Visitors will take part in a storyline inspired by Lex Luthor’s fictional Everyman Project before boarding a 32-seat ride vehicle equipped with audio, lighting and digital effects. The attraction aims to simulate superhuman abilities through interactive technology and motion-based experiences.
The second attraction, ‘Superman Up and Away’, will be a next-generation flying roller coaster. The ride is designed to give guests the sensation of flying alongside Superman while protecting the fictional city of Metropolis. Additional details about the experience are expected to be revealed at a later stage.
Miral said the expansion reflects its ongoing collaboration with Warner Bros. Discovery and supports efforts to enhance Yas Island’s position as a leading entertainment destination. Company executives noted that the new attractions will provide visitors with additional immersive experiences while strengthening Abu Dhabi’s appeal as a global tourism hub.
Warner Bros. Discovery has also emphasized its dedication to coming up with innovative ideas to interact with the well-loved characters.
Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi presently includes six themed zones that offer various rides from Warner Bros. properties. The addition of the new DC experiences further expands the park’s portfolio of family entertainment offerings.
